I have several items for your post. You seem to be nineteen members short of your 2007 membership goal. I will send your post names from time to time which you should be able to join to your post. All it takes is a 39 cent stamp on a letter telling the individual that he has been placed on the membership roster of your post. Give them the opportunity to turn down your offer. Give them a date, time anit location of your meeting. Wait a short time for the individual to respond to your offer. If no response is received, process the necessary paper work to Department for the transfer to your post.
The 3rd District Oratorical Contest was held on the 28th of January I am sorry that an error was made and the student from Liberty was not awarded that which he was entitled to. The declared winner this year was from Albany and will participate in the Zone 2 competition on 4 February in Richmond.
The next District meeting is scheduled for 8 April 2007 at Excelsior Springs, but I see that this is Easter Sunday. So I am rescheduling the meeting for 15 April if there is not a conflict. At this meeting I would like to set a slate of 3rd District Officers. If anyone in your post would like to run for an office please submit his name and the office he is seeking.
